Please have a look at this article with regards to an attempted kidnapping of a 4 year old child in Bow which happened on Monday. Local officers in Newham have all increased patrols around primary schools.

We are delighted to be able to show you the video of the 'Song for the Commonwealth' that the children recently recorded at RAF Northolt, in honour of HRH Queen Elizabeth II's 90 th Birthday. The CD will be available soon.

Great CAFOD Balloon Race

St Winefride’s held a Balloon Race to raise funds from CAFOD. The cards from the balloons are continuing to come back! The leader so far has reached over 50 miles from the school!

We are still hoping that some balloons are going to make it across the Channel into France. Go online (Newham Recorder) to read all about it!

Choir at Cadogan Hall

The Choir, as part of the Commonwealth Youth Choir, attended an event at Cadogan Hall to celebrate St George’s Day. As well as our choir, direct from duties at Buckingham Palace, the Bands of the Coldstream and Grenadier Guards joined together for the first time at Cadogan Hall.

Celebrating this most important of English Days, these two fine English Regiments, representing the Household Division, performed alongside international trumpet soloist Philip Cobb in an evening of musical excellence hosted by television and stage superstar Christopher Biggins.

World Book Day

Once again St Winefride’s celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as characters from the world of literature.

As you can see from the photo not only the children joined in, but the staff too! Can you spot your favourite character?

The Commonwealth Youth Choir

The Commonwealth Youth Choir had the honour of singing on the roof of Westminster's City Hall recently and also got to meet the City Mayor, Sarah Richardson.

Some of our Year 6 children took part in this year's Brilliant Club. Having completed an essay on the topic of poverty, they attended a graduation ceremony at Oxford University where they received their graduation certificates. Well done to one and all!
